Jay Craven interviews filmmaker Jesse Nesser

MNFF is delighted to announce that Jesse Nesser, director of Walk With Me: The Trials of Damon J. Keith, our Opening Night film at #MNFF2, will be joining Artistic Director Jay Craven for a conversation, live on Zoom, Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm EDT. You can register for the event here.

Mr. Nesser will share with our attendees his new short film, The Mailman, as an exclusive “first look” screening just for this event. And he will also show us some extended clips from his new documentary feature, Through the Flak: War Stories of the Tuskegee Airmen, which is not in release yet. Many of our friends will remember Mr. Nesser’s stirring documentary about the noble Judge Damon J. Keith, a towering and historic figure in civil rights jurisprudence, and, in 1967, one of the first African Americans to be appointed to the Federal bench. Judge Keith served 52 years and never retired, dying in office on April 28, 2019, as the sitting Senior Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. By special arrangement, Mr. Nesser is making Walk With Me: The Trials of Damon J. Keith available through the Chagrin Falls Film Festival using this link: https://cdff.sites.goelevent.com/events/walk-with-me-trials-of-damon-j-keith/

While we will host this discussion live on Zoom this coming Wednesday at 7pm EDT, we’ll also record and share it on the MNFF website and Facebook page following the event. We welcome questions for the filmmakers. Want to send one in advance of the event? Contact Phoebe Lewis at pl@middfilmfest.org. Or submit a question during the event using the Zoom “Q&A” or “Chat” functions.

Our conversation with Jesse Nesser will be limited to the first 100 people who register through their Zoom accounts. Don’t miss out on an exciting conversation and exclusive film screening. Once you register for the event you will receive instructions on how to join the Webinar.
